The Red Sox lost a tough one Sunday after blowing a lead in the seventh. Manager John Farrell was ejected after arguing a questionable call by the umpires, and the Detroit Tigers capitalized on their momentum.
Andrew Miller was called out to pitch in the seventh inning after Andrew Bailey pitched just 1/3 of an inning, but the move didn’t turn out as positively as the Sox might have hoped. The Tigers took a 7-4 lead and went on to win and take the series 3-1. Miller took responsibility after the game for putting the team in a hole they couldn’t climb out of.
