Boston sports fans have been spoiled for quite some time. Sports fans in the city and across the region have seen a borderline absurd amount of success from their sports teams in the last decade or so. Because of that, it’s tough to complain about a bad week.
However, that’s exactly what Boston sports fans had this week. It started with a loss in the championship, and it ended with a championship contender being dismantled. In between, there was more drama, as well as a sad story that transcends sports.
No one will feel sorry for Boston sports, especially not after the city’s long streak of success. That’s certainly understandable, but their schadenfreude won’t make things any easier.
On the bright side, though, next week is a new week.
