Say what you will about the effects that the NHL schedule had on this lockout-shortened season, but it feels like the last two teams standing in the Eastern Conference would have been there regardless of how many games they played.
The Bruins and Penguins had been the two best teams for just about all of the regular season in 2013, and it seems fitting that they are playing for the right to represent their conference in the Stanley Cup Final. Jarome Iginla and Jaromir Jagr aside, these teams have been on a collision course all season long, and on Saturday night, the anticipation finally comes to a close.
