Chad Johnson Calls Time in Jail ‘Cool,’ Says Judge Who Sentenced Him Was ‘Blessing in Disguise’ (Video)

Maybe Chad Johnson is finally turning over a new leaf.

The wide receiver was released from jail Monday after seven days behind bars. Johnson’s original 30-day sentence stemmed from an incident where Johnson patted his lawyer’s backside in a court appearance, and Judge Kathleen McHugh did not take kindly to Johnson making a mockery of her courtroom. Johnson was released early thanks to an apology he issued to McHugh.

Upon Johnson’s release from jail — where he was visited by fellow free agent Terrell Owens — he acknowledged that the stint gave him time to slow down and think about where his life was headed. He even went as far as to say that he loves McHugh “to death” for putting him in the position to turn his life around.
