The Red Sox’ bullpen has had a number of moving parts recently. Clayton Mortensen is back in the mix.

Mortensen has been activated from the disabled list, the team announced Wednesday. To make room for him on the 25-man roster, right-hander Pedro Beato was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket following Tuesday’s game.

Mortensen hasn’t pitched since June 10 because of a right groin strain. He just finished a three-game rehab stint at Triple-A Pawtucket, allowing two runs in four innings pitched for the PawSox.

Mortensen, who has pitched multiple innings on a number of occasions for the Red Sox this season, owns a 1-2 record and 5.34 ERA (18 runs in 31 1/3 innings) over 24 appearances.
