The Dallas Stars haven’t reached the playoffs since 2008, and the club is hoping a fresh look in its 20th anniversary season could be just the trick to turn things around.

The Stars revealed a new logo and set of jerseys — complete with their new “Victory Green” primary color — on Tuesday night during an exclusive event in downtown Dallas. The design overhaul was made in anticipation of the team’s 2013-14 season, which will be its 20th since it moved from Minnesota to Texas.

The unveiling came on the same night that the Stars announced that they will be retiring former center Mike Modano‘s No. 9 into the rafters before the team’s game against the Minnesota Wild on March 8 next season. The honor was to be expected, as Modano, the No. 1 overall pick in the 1988 NHL draft, owns team records in several categories, including career points, career goals and career games played.
