This year’s Bruins roster does not look a whole lot different from the one that brought the Stanley Cup home to Boston two years ago.
Only three players that saw time during the 2011 playoffs (Tim Thomas, Tomas Kaberle and Mark Recchi) are no longer with the team, but alternate captain Patrice Bergeron told NESN’s Jack Edwards during Tuesday’s media day that the remaining core of Bruins has grown and matured greatly since winning the title.
The B’s will look to become the first team to raise the Cup twice in three years since the Detroit Red Wings did so 15 years ago. It all gets started Wednesday night, when the puck drops for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in Chicago.
