Nobody really knows what to make of the 2013 NBA Draft, and the loss of Doc Rivers has created even more uncertainty than most for the Celtics.
This draft was always known to be a thin one. Now the Celtics need to make a pick with no clue who will be guiding the new player into his pro career and not even knowing what the team’s needs are, as Paul Pierce‘s and Kevin Garnett‘s futures are also up in the air.
Whatever the Celtics choose to do on Thursday, the deal they swung with the Clippers over the weekend makes one thing for sure: The Celtics are in full-blown rebuilding mode now, and the rest of this offseason and probably beyond will be spent compiling assets for the future.
NESN.com’s Ben Watanabe and Zack Cox joined the NESN.com podcast on Monday to talk about the fallout of the now (hopefully) completed deal between the Celtics and Clippers, and what it means for both teams. They also wrapped up a thrilling NBA Finals and previewed the wide-open draft.
