2013 has been a renaissance for John Lackey.
After pitching up to ace-like standards for years with the Angels, the big right-hander just wasn’t quite the same upon coming to Boston. Drawing the ire of Red Sox Nation, Lackey struggled through two seasons before the reason for his ineffectiveness was revealed, and Lackey subsequently missed a whole year rehabbing from Tommy John surgery.
This season, however, Lackey is thoroughly proving that all his issues were health-related, and when he’s physically fit he’s still capable of being not just a solid starter, but also an upper-echelon pitcher. Lackey spoke with Tom Caron at length before Thursday night’s game and discussed a number of subjects, but most notably just how it feels to feel normal again.
Check out everything Lackey had to say in the video above.
