Karl Malone John StocktonKarl Malone lost consecutive NBA Finals appearances to Michael Jordan‘s Chicago Bulls, and it appears that “The Mailman” may still have some bitter feelings towards the man most people consider basketball’s greatest player ever.

In an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Malone said that Jordan wouldn’t be on an all-time starting five, if he were constructing the team. In fact, Malone would rather have Jordan’s sidekick, Scottie Pippen.

“I’m gonna shock the world,” said Malone. “I have to put Scottie Pippen at the three. Scottie Pippen led the [Bulls] in every statistical category when he was there without Jordan.”

For the record, Malone’s not playing favorites. He even left himself off the team. The rest of his squad includes former teammate John Stockton at point guard, LeBron James at power forward, Wilt Chamberlain at center and Oscar Robertson at shooting guard.

At one point during the interview, Patrick asserted that Malone must have a “man crush” on Pippen to take him over Jordan. Malone replied that Pippen isn’t the player he has such strong feelings for.

“I have a man crush on LeBron James,” Malone said.
