Don’t worry, fans of fairy tale endings. The quarterback and the beauty queen are still going strong.
Katherine Webb was in Birmingham, Ala., on Friday at the Regions Tradition golf tournament to pose for pictures in order to raise money for local hospital Children’s of Alabama. The former Miss Alabama had been photographed wearing a large ring on her ring finger recently and was again sporting the rock on Friday.
Asked if she and boyfriend AJ McCarron, quarterback of the national champion University of Alabama Crimson Tide, were engaged, Webb answered in the negative, according to The Associated Press.
“We’re doing great,” Webb said when asked about the ring. “No, I promise you, you guys will know when that time comes.
“Right now I’m really just focusing on doing more charity work. I have more of a platform to be able to do that.”
Webb rose from local notoriety to country-wide fame when ESPN analyst Brent Musberger commented on her appearance during the BCS national championship game. ESPN suspended Musberger for his words, while Webb’s world changed practically overnight.
