Whoever planned the routing of the Heat’s championship parade through the streets of Miami on Monday should probably be fired. Or, as the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland would probably say, “Off with his head!”
The Heat celebrated with the Larry O’Brien Trophy in Miami on Monday, and a few of the players, including LeBron James, nearly ended up a few inches shorter. James and some teammates were riding on top of a fire truck during the parade, which passed beneath an overpass just tall enough for the truck itself, but leaving no headroom for the players to stand up.
Luckily someone was paying attention, and everyone ducked — twice. However, clearly the best part of the video is the visible 14-foot-6 clearance sign that passes just over James’ head as they go under the first overpass.
