The Boston Celtics traded the ‘fro for the flow Thursday night.
Though they ended up with former Gonzaga center Kelly Olynyk, whose shoulder-length locks made him a cult hero with the Zags, through a draft-night trade with the Mavericks, the Celtics officially used their No. 16 selection on Brazilian center Lucas Nogueira, who sports an outrageous hairstyle of his own.
Nogueira stands seven feet tall, but his rather large afro adds nearly another foot — and makes wearing the NBA’s official draft hat rather difficult.
