Baseball broadcasters have long been adored for their skill in delivering memorable home run calls. Even for the casual viewer, calls like Jack Buck‘s “I don’t believe what I just saw” in the 1988 World Series and Russ Hodges‘ “The Giants win the pennant, the Giants win the pennant!” in 1951 have lived on, and they’re hard to top.

With all due respect to those calls, however, this one at least bears mentioning alongside some of the most creative of all time.

The call comes from the Chinese Professional Baseball League in Taiwan, where former Red Sox left fielder Manny Ramirez is playing for the EDA Rhinos. On Thursday, Ramirez launched a home run — his seventh of the season — into the left field seats. That apparently excited one Taiwanese announcer.

“This ball is long gone, just like the ex-girlfriend who will never return. Home run!” the announcer exclaimed during his call.

Enough said. Check out the hilarious call below.
