Pau GasolThe world learned two things about Pau Gasol on Thursday.

1. He is on Twitter.

2. He is apparently pretty good at it.

Gasol does more than just tweet about what he eats for lunch, though. The Lakers forward was honored with the “Social Difference Award,” really the only award of consequence in the NBA Social Media Awards, which honored the likes of Russell Westbrook for his “trendsetting” (read: weird) clothing and JaVale McGee for his “LOL”-inducing moments.

Gasol’s award honored his compassion and work with kids and families battling cancer. It was a minor award, but Gasol was touched.

If you get a chance today, send Gasol 140 characters’ worth of thanks for his work.
