The Red Sox wives will be holding a children’s book drive, which benefits the non-profit organization Room to Grow, while Boston takes on the Blue Jays at Fenway Park on Friday, June 28.
Those who wish to donate should visit the table set up outside of each gate at Fenway Park starting at 5:40 p.m. until the completion of the second inning. Room to Grow is looking for books suitable for children ages 0-3 in both English and Spanish.
“Room to Grow works with low-income mothers from before their child is born until the baby turns three, providing them with support from social workers as well as the much-needed baby items for their child,” said Kelli Pedroia, wife of Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia. “When we learned of the organization’s need for children’s books, we thought rallying Red Sox fans to donate books at the ballpark was one small way we could help.”
