Back when Chad Johnson was still in the NFL, he boasted that he was a loudmouth on the field but had never been in trouble off of it. The wide receiver could no longer make that claim after he was arrested in August 2012 and charged with domestic battery.

Johnson will now be spending 30 days in jail after angering Judge Kathleen McHugh at his probation violation hearing. Johnson was arrested inside a Broward County courtroom in Florida after he slapped his attorney on the backside in court.

Johnson was close to staying out of jail on a plea deal before McHugh said Johnson wasn’t taking the hearing seriously enough. His probation was also extended three months.

Johnson violated his probation by failing to meet with probation specialists on Feb. 15 and March 15. He also failed to show proof of enrollment and completion of a batterers intervention program.
