Kevin WareKevin Ware suffered one of the most horrific injuries ever seen on a basketball court, but just over one month after enduring a compound fracture in his leg, the Louisville guard is already on the road to recovery.

According to WDRB, Ware was spotted taking jump shots at the University of Louisville Yum! Center practice court Monday afternoon. Though the shots certainly did not come at anything near maximum effort, Eric Crawford reports that Ware did show a little bit of bounce.

Over the weekend, Ware had reported himself on Twitter that he was out of his cast and “standing on my two feet on my own again.”

An injury like Ware’s can take about six months to fully heal and comes with additional mental hurdles as the player tries to cut and move at full speed again. Likewise, Ware’s status for the beginning of the college basketball season in November remains to be seen.

“Kevin’s doing great,” Louisville coach Rick Pitino said. “It’s pretty amazing.”
