Report: Tim Thomas May Attempt Comeback Next Season in NHL or Europe

Now that Tim Thomas‘ one-year sabbatical from the NHL is over, he may attempt a comeback in 2013-14.

Elliotte Friedman of CBC contacted Thomas’ agent, who said everything is still “status quo,” but in doing some more digging, Friedman found out that Thomas may be considering a return to hockey. What’s unknown is whether Thomas would want to play in the NHL or overseas.

If Thomas returns to the NHL, it would likely be for the New York Islanders, who traded for Thomas’ rights from the Bruins for a conditional second-round pick in February. Thomas’ contract is up after this season, but they can keep his rights since he didn’t report in 2012-13.
