Rory McIlroy Takes On Golf-Playing, Trash-Talking Robot in Promotion for European Tour (Video)

Rory McIlroy used to chip golf balls into his mother’s washing machine when he was a kid, and it looks like the machines are finally getting their revenge.

In a promotional video for the European Tour, McIlroy — one of the top-ranked players in the world — had a showdown with a robot (of course). Their objective? To hit golf balls into washing machines — from up to 300 yards away.

As points out, McIlroy’s opponent was named¬†Golf Laboratory Computer Controlled Hitting Machine, or Geoff for short. Not only can Geoff swing it, he can also do a little trash-talking.

Check it out below.
