Shane Battier Towels Off LeBron James During Timeout, James Really Appreciates It (Video)

As much as the Heat are made out to be a band of mercenaries just looking to cruise to a championship ring, Miami’s players are actually very close. They might be a little too close, in fact.

Shane Battier did not see the court at all in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday, but the veteran forward did make his presence felt. During a second-quarter timeout, Battier lightly dabbed sweat off of LeBron James‘ left arm and appeared to get a “thank you” from the league MVP.

Make fun of Battier’s towel boy act if you wish, but whatever he thought he was doing, it obviously worked. James finished with 32 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals as the Heat eliminated the Pacers. Clearly, Battier wiping off James’ sweat was the key. If Heat coach Erik Spoelstra is smart, he will designate Battier as “Official LeBron Wiper-Offer” for the NBA Finals.
