TJ MoeRookie wide receiver T.J. Moe is sticking with the Patriots after all.

Moe tore his Achilles during Patriots organized team activities late last week, and the Patriots waived him on Friday afternoon. But he passed through waivers unclaimed on Monday and will now be placed on the Patriots’ injured reserve list.

Moe signed with the Patriots as an undrafted rookie free agent back in April. The Patriots even gave Moe a $30,000 signing bonus — hefty for a UDFA — outbidding a number of other suitors to secure his services.

The Patriots expected Moe to be something of a project, but he seemed like a perfect fit in the offense, especially considering the endless comparisons to Wes Welker. Moe will now land on season-ending IR, opening up a spot on the Patriots’ 90-man roster.

He will remain under the Patriots’ control and will return to compete for a spot with the team in 2014.
