Tim DuncanGame 6 was over … and then, it wasn’t.

With the Miami Heat stealing victory from the jaws of defeat on Tuesday night, there will be a Game 7 in the NBA Finals. However, the fate of that game doesn’t seem to be very much in doubt.

After the Heat’s dramatic win, of course, the Spurs aren’t being given much of a chance to come back and triumph in the next game. It would seem they are too old, too banged-up and too disheartened to give things another go. The conventional thinking seems to be that if the Spurs were going to win the championship, they would have had to do it last night.

Of course, the Spurs have been called worse things on their road to this point than “old,” and none of that ever seemed to give them pause. Tim Duncan and Co. are not likely to just fold it in and forget to show up for a Game 7 — no matter what happened the last time out.

NESN.com’s Ben Watanabe and Dan Duquette joined the NESN.com podcast on Wednesday, where they previewed Game 7 of the NBA Finals. They also spoke about Doc Rivers drama and much more.
