Expectations may be decreased for Tim Tebow as he starts Phase III of his career in New England, but that doesn’t mean headline writers in the region won’t have to step up their game.

With Tebow coming to town, tabloids in the Northeast are ready to bust out their best puns. While Tebow isn’t expected to have the media access he had with the Jets, he’ll still be the main attraction at Patriots camp for some time, and that means newspaper covers.

The Boston Herald and a paper from Tebow’s former town, the New York Daily News, got into the act Tuesday morning. They played off the Pats’ signing of Tebow with headlines about his Christian beliefs, with the Boston Herald going with “Good God!” and the New York Daily News opting for “God help us.”

Let’s hope the best is yet to come.
