Victor CruzVictor Cruz hasn’t been catching any passes during Giants OTAs this offseason, which could be because he’s trying to snag a reality TV show instead.

Cruz, who has skipped all of the Giants’ organized team activities to this point because of a contract holdout, has been in talks to land his own reality TV show, according to the New York Daily News.

“It is going to be something that is very unique to me and very unique to what I like, and like to do,” Cruz said.

The 26-year-old Cruz landed his first Pro Bowl invite in 2012, but he’s also becoming a star off the field. Best known for his salsa dancing touchdown celebration, Cruz has also become the poster boy for Campbell’s Chunky Soup and a primary face for a few other sponsors. The show is reportedly centered around continuing that path to stardom, but Cruz said he doesn’t want it to end up like Kris Humphries’ disastrous marriage to Kim Kardashian on her TV show.

“I definitely want it to be my show,” Cruz said. “My own thing, something that I can contribute to and something I like to do, I can be comfortable with, and an easy show, something people like to watch and that people can be in tune with on a daily basis.”

While he hunts for the Hollywood spotlight, Cruz still hasn’t revealed any plans to get back on the field with Eli Manning and his Giants teammates. But that hasn’t altered his focus or goals for next season.

“We are still fielding some requests, so we will see how [the show] goes — the timing has to be right, and I have got to squeeze in some training in there before the season starts,” Cruz said before turning to the bigger picture. “We understand the Super Bowl is in New York City, and that is motivation for us. We have got to be ready to go.”

The Giants have a few more days of voluntary OTAs this week before they lock down for a mandatory minicamp June 11-13. It remains to be seen if Cruz will show up, but, either way, it should make for some good TV drama.
