Seguin Hamilton PollThe Bruins’ season just officially ended, and now attention can be turned to the future of the organization.

Tyler Seguin, one of the youngest players on the team, has been in the league for three years and already has two Stanley Cup runs under his belt — not bad for a 21-year-old. Seguin said after the Bruins’ heartbreaking Game 6 loss to the Blackhawks that he learned valuable life lessons in his third season. It took him a few games to get into his groove in the playoffs, but he eventually played a crucial part in the Bruins’ ability to hang on.

There’s no doubt that Seguin has room to elevate his game, but that’s the beauty of young players.

Dougie Hamilton saw limited action in this year’s Stanley Cup run after a breakout year in which he played in 42 of the 48 regular-season games. Hamilton, 20,  said the experience of watching his team progress through the playoffs taught him valuable lessons — now he knows what it will be like when the B’s get a crack at it again.

Hamilton and Seguin are the young faces of the Bruins organization. They are two of the players that Peter Chiarelli will try to build the team around in the coming months. Seguin has already shown he has matured as a player over the last three seasons, and Hamilton will get more opportunities to shine. Moving forward, the B’s will look to improve their young core to put them in the position to vie for another Stanley Cup title, but whose development would be a game-changer?
