Wil MyersBaseball’s newest phenom is set to make his major league debut on Tuesday in Game 1 of the doubleheader between the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox. Who knows, maybe someday you’ll be able to say you were watching at the beginning of a great career.

Wil Myers will start in right field for the Rays, in baseball’s most anticipated debut since perhaps Bryce Harper. The 22-year-old was acquired from the Kansas City Royals this past offseason as the key cog in the James Shields trade. Myers started off the year slowly at Triple-A, but ultimately started hitting as expected and could end up being a difference-maker in the AL East.

For the Red Sox, Mike Napoli is recovered from the flu-like symptoms that sent him home to Boston while the Red Sox were in Baltimore. He’ll return to first base and the No. 5 spot in the lineup.

On the mound, meanwhile, Alfredo Aceves comes up from Pawtucket to make a spot start for Boston. Aceves’ help was necessary because of the ongoing situation with Clay Buchholz, who was scheduled to throw on the side Tuesday before the game.
