A.J. Burnett Struggles Spelling Pedro Alvarez’s Name on Twitter in Attempt to Stand Up for Teammate

The participants for the 2013 Home Run Derby were announced on Monday, but A.J. Burnett waited until Tuesday to vent his grievances about his teammate who didn’t make the cut — only he forgot to turn on spell check.

Slugger Pedro Alvarez of the Pittsburgh Pirates won’t be swinging for the fences at Citi Field on Monday, and Burnett made it clear online that he didn’t agree with the snub. What he didn’t make clear, however, was that he knew how to spell his teammate’s name.
