Most recent high school graduates can’t say what they want for breakfast the next morning. Andrew Wiggins, on the other hand, knows where he would like his career to start.

The high school standout and incoming Kansas freshman was named the Gatorade Athlete of the Year at a banquet Tuesday. Wiggins didn’t hesitate when reporters asked him where he would fit best should he be drafted tomorrow.

“I would like to say the Raptors, because I want to play for them,” Wiggins said.

Canadian-born himself, it’s no surprise that Wiggins instinctively chose the Toronto-based team. The heart knows what it wants, eh?

Wiggins has floored scouts and is expected to be the No. 1 draft pick in 2014. After what most considered to be a dry draft this offseason, basketball fans have been paying particularly close attention to Wiggins, especially considering he has yet to play in an NCAA game.

Although Wiggins needs to make it through his first year of collegiate basketball before he can really start thinking about the NBA, the Raptors were probably happy to hear the freshman’s wishes. But come draft time, Toronto won’t be the only team hoping to snatch up Wiggins before the next guy.
