Everything is coming up roses for Borussia Dortmund these days. Well, not exactly everything and not specifically roses, but you’ll see what we mean.

The German soccer club, with the help of its main sponsor, Puma, used an impressive and expansive piece of art to unveil its new home jersey Friday.

Dortmund arranged 80,645 flowers —  yellow marigolds and black, pink and gray petunias — in a park near its stadium to resemble the shirts players will wear during the 2013-14 seasons. Assuming Dortmund fans have airplanes, helicopters or internet access, it was their first look at their team’s new shirt.

The Bundesliga (German first division) and UEFA Champions League runner-up is hoping its recent success continues next season and beyond. A little bit of flower power usually helps. Only time will tell what effect a lot of flower power has on Dortmund’s chances going forward.
