Boston Celtics

Since its inception in 1946, the NBA has faced four lockouts, the most recent one in 2011. But despite the troubles and dramatics, fans keep coming back, and they have other places to look for a morale boost, aside from the players.

Enter NBA cheerleaders, such as the Boston Celtics Dancers.

As you could imagine, the journey to becoming a professional cheerleader is not easy. For the Boston Celtics Dancers, also known as the Green Team, one has to be agile, committed and charismatic. This journey starts with preliminary auditions, held in New York, Los Angeles and Boston. During the preliminary auditions, the hordes of hopefuls show off their athleticism and talent as they learn the choreography.

Following the preliminaries are callbacks, callbacks, more callbacks and the final audition. After the grueling process, 20 lucky young women are deemed worthy of donning the green and black uniforms.

And that is just the beginning of an exciting season as a Boston Celtics Dancer.
