As the All-Star break of the baseball season approaches, dedicated fans have done their homework. They’ve scoured stats, watched the games and finally made one of the biggest decisions of the season — what jersey to buy.
MLB.com released the official list of the most popular jerseys Wednesday, revealing San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey as having the most sold this season. He was followed by Yankees closer Mariano Rivera and Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina.
Storied veterans like David Wright, Derek Jeter and Dustin Pedroia all ranked in the top 20, but it is no surprise that the class of rising stars was represented, as well.
Three of the top 20 are under the age of 22 — Bryce Harper, Mike Trout and Manny Machado. Rookie sensations Matt Harvey, Yasiel Puig and Hyun-Jin Ryu made quick work with their fan bases, all ranking 11th or higher.
