Clay Buchholz Likely Won’t Return Before September, Will Make 4-5 Starts Before End of Season (Video)

Clay Buchholz received the good news that he has no structural damage from Dr. James Andrews himself, but the pitcher won’t be rushing back to the mound anytime soon.

Approaching the rest of the season with cautious optimism, Buchholz will likely not see any game action before September. Once he does return, the Red Sox ace will make 4-5 starts and then hopefully be ready to go for the playoffs. He emphasized there is no set timeline, but will be back on the diamond when he feels comfortable and not at-risk of injuring himself further.

Check out what else Buchholz had to say about his return in the above video.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
