David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia Lead Charge As Red Sox Hit Five Home Runs in Win Over Mariners (Video)

The Red Sox broke out and in a big way Tuesday night, as many of their fans on the East Coast slept the night away.

Boston bounced back after dropping the first game in Seattle to pound the Mariners 11-8 in the second game of the series, a game that started after 10 p.m. in the East and ended up lasting 3 hours and 44 minutes.

Part of the reason the game took so long, of course, was the offensive outbursts from both teams, particularly the Red Sox. A night after being held down by Felix Hernandez, the Sox rebounded with five home runs from five different players. David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Mike Napoli, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Shane Victorino all homered to help bail out Allen Webster, who couldn’t survive the third inning.
