Apparently Saturday was the day to get married in the world of professional sports.
Robert Griffin III and Matt Barkley, who each married their respective longtime girlfriends on July 6, will share an anniversary with Maple Leafs defenseman Dion Phaneuf, who married actress Elisha Cuthbert on Prince Edward Island. Phaneuf and Cuthbert starting dating in May 2008.
The couple got engaged in September 2012. Cuthbert had previously dated the now-former NHLer Sean Avery.
Phaneuf and Cuthbert were wed at St. James Catholic Church in Summerfield, Prince Edward Island, according to E!. The reception was at Phaneuf’s house with nearly 300 guests.
