Felix Doubront Wins Amica Pitcher of the Week Honors After Two Strong Starts Against Blue Jays, Angels

Felix DoubrontIt was a strong week on the mound for the Red Sox.

In six games this week, the Red Sox’ pitching staff had a 2.33 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 54 innings. Felix Doubront gets the nod for Amica Pitcher of the Week after two strong starts against the Blue Jays and Angels.

Doubront allowed four runs in 13 innings with 11 strikeouts. He let up 10 hits and five walks with a .217 batting average. Doubront picked up one win for his efforts.

The Red Sox have won five straight and nine of their last 10. They lead the Orioles by 5 1/2 games in the AL East. They have the AL’s best record and only trail the Pittsburgh Pirates for the MLB lead.
