Not even in Indiana, where basketball is like a religion, are NBA players immune to the scourge that is sleeved jerseys.

The Pacers will follow the fad started by Adidas and the Golden State Warriors last season by donning short sleeves in the Orlando Summer League. Instead of reversible mesh tank tops, the Pacers will have separate “home” and “away” short-sleeved jerseys in white and black.

Hold on, black? Don’t the Pacers wear navy blue? Well, yes. In probably the best detail in this whole story, the Pacers — a professional sports organization in a globally recognized league — were not able to get jerseys in their official team color, because navy was unavailable when they made their order.

So, to review, the Pacers are getting sleeved jerseys nobody wants in a color they do not even normally wear. No wonder Pacers center Roy Hibbert hates the idea.
