“Watch out,” J.J. Watt‘s coming.

That was the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year’s message after box jumping 59.5 inches earlier this week, and it’s also the message quarterbacks around the league should be taking to heart.

A video of Watt box jumping 55 inches surfaced late in the 2012 season, which raised some eyebrows. Just nine months later, Watt has added nearly five inches onto that total, and it might have something to do with his weight. Watt worked hard during the offseason and dropped his weight down to just 288 pounds for the upcoming season. The slimmer build might have given Watt just enough flexibility and bounce to get those extra inches.

Watt finished the 2012 season, just his second in the NFL, with 20.5 sacks and an unbelievable 16 passes defended, which is a NFL record among defensive linemen. He’s hoping for a repeat performance again this season and to lead the Texans over the divisional round playoff hump they’ve fallen victim to the past two seasons.

Watch Watt jump almost five feet high in the video below.
