Jaromir Jagr may not be heading overseas next season as it sounds like he could be heading South, instead.

Jagr’s agent, Petr Svoboda, told Canes Country on Wednesday that the Carolina Hurricanes are on list of teams Jagr is interested in playing for next season.

“What I can tell you is this: Carolina was on his list,” Svoboda said. “What the reason is, he knows better than me. He’s not 20. He knows where he wants to go and why.

Ron Francis is [in Carolina] and when he looks at the roster and everything else, he feels that it’s a very good team,” he added.

Jagr’s decision “could be soon,” or “could be a month from now,” says Svoboda.

The 41-year-old right winger scored 16 goals and bagged 19 assists last season, splitting time with Dallas and Boston.
