Gerald "Jerry" SanduskyThe name “Sandusky,” fair or not, will have negative connotations for a very long time. So it should come as no surprise that one of Sandusky’s own children is looking to have his and his family’s name changed.

Matt Sandusky, son of former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky, is seeking to change his name, according to the Associated Press. Jerry Sandusky was convicted on 45 counts of sexual abuse last summer after being accused of sexually abusing children during his time as an employee of the Penn State athletics department. He’s currently serving a 30- to 60-year prison sentence.

Matt Sandusky has filed papers, according to the AP, in Centre County Court in Bellefonte, Pa. The younger Sandusky looks to have his name, as well as his wife and four children, changed.

During the trial, Matt claimed to have been abused by his father.
