Lindsey Vonn may still be getting over a bum knee, and Tiger Woods may still be having trouble in major championships, but the relationship between the two — who have had pretty significant hiccups with their significant others before — is as seamless as ever.
Vonn, who was in the news this week when she talked to Vogue about not being too hot on marriage, also spoke about how she and Woods ended up together.
“We immediately clicked, you know?” she said. “It was just one of those things. We talked a lot, corresponded a lot, and he was a good friend who was always there. And then it became more. … It’s amazing. Life changes very quickly, in a very positive way, if you let it.”
Vonn’s marriage with Thomas Vonn ended in 2011, and Woods and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, divorced in 2010. While both have been in the public eye before, being in the public eye together has only amplified the attention.
“Tiger’s fame is obviously in the extreme, the amount of scrutiny that he’s constantly under,” Vonn said. “But that’s the thing: It all comes back to being happy. It doesn’t really matter what anything else thinks — do what you love to do and be happy, and that’s it.”
