The first time Manny Ramirez went through the minor league system, he was much younger, coming up through Cleveland, and his hair had no idea how long and dreaded it one day would become.  Now, almost 20 years since his major league debut, Ramirez is taking a step back in time by shedding his dreadlocks before stepping out with Triple-A Round Rock Express.

Ramirez, who recently signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers, is set to make his debut with the farm club Sunday. But first, he decided to do away with his prized dreadlocks, joining the ranks of Nick Swisher and Johnny Damon to make drastic hair changes in the name of the game.

Check out the photos below of Ramirez’s transformation.
