bill goldbergWith the Miami Marlins’ woeful attendance numbers this season, no promotion is too absurd if it gets fans to come to the ballpark.

That includes what the team has in store for Aug. 24’s matchup with the Colorado Rockies, when Marlins Park will host Legends of Wrestling Night.

According to The Biz of Baseball, more than a dozen current and former professional wrestlers will be in attendance to sign autographs and face off in several postgame matches in a ring set up on the concourse (yes, seriously).

That group will include such big names as Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, The Nasty Boys and Bill Goldberg, who will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Unfortunately, the Diamondbacks are not visiting South Florida at all during the second half of the season, so Arizona’s new mascot will not be able to attend.
