There’s no denying the facts. Roger Federer was upset early on at Wimbledon as the defending champion, and he dropped a couple of spots in the world ranking, to No. 5. It’s been a rough few weeks for Federer, but lucky for him, he’s still No. 1 to his family.
Mirka Federer not only serves as wife to one of the sport’s most elite players, but she’s also the mother of their twin girls and the rock in her husband’s career. A former player herself, the two met at the Olympics in 2000 and were married nine years later.
Even after Mirka retired in 2002, she still stood beside her husband as he climbed the ranks, and earlier this year, when The Tennis Space ranked the top “women behind the men,” it’s no surprise that Mirka was No. 1.
