New Orleans Pelicans Unveil New, Simple Court Design Featuring Pelicans Logo (Photo)

The New Orleans Pelicans released images for their new court design Monday, and — unlike their new name — it is nothing out of the ordinary.

After undergoing a name, color and  near-entire roster change, it seems all the remains of the New Orleans Hornets era have been washed away. In come the Pelicans and their new court, trimmed with navy blue and gold. The court is relatively simple, sporting the new Pelicans logo at half-court along with “New Orleans Pelicans” in text across both baselines.

The Pelicans didn’t follow the recent trend of creating distinctive courts for brand recognition, which has been popular among college athletic departments at schools like UCF, Oregon, Long Beach State and George Washington.

Check out the new court design below, and click here for a virtual tour of the court.
