The captains of the New England Patriots spoke publicly Thursday for the first time since Aaron Hernandez‘s arrest. Their comments came one day after head coach Bill Belichick spoke with the media and one day before training camp officially opens, and the players echoed a similar sentiment.
The press conferences were marked with more openness than is usually found when dealing with the Patriots, which the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe says is the team’s way of giving the situation its proper attention before moving past it to deal with the grind of preparing for the season.
