aaron hernandez. The latest in the Aaron Hernandez saga has taken police out of Massachusetts and back to Hernandez’s roots in Connecticut.

State police divers in Bristol, Conn., along with investigators from the Bristol County, Mass., District Attorney’s office, are searching a pond in the small Connecticut town for a weapon connected to the Hernandez murder case, according to the Hartford Courant.

Scuba divers are at Pine Lake searching for the .45-caliber Glock pistol that police believe was used to kill Odin Lloyd on June 17. Hernandez is charged with Lloyd’s murder, but the suspected weapon hasn’t been found yet.

Last week, photos from Hernandez’s home security system in North Attleborough, Mass., were unsealed by the court. The photos, still shots of the video taken in Hernandez’s home, reportedly show Hernandez holding a gun inside his house in the hours following Lloyd’s death.

Investigators say they believe the gun they are searching for is the same one from the photos.

The pond is near a house on Lake Avenue house owned by Hernandez’s uncle, where the former Patriot’s two associates, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, are reported to have driven to after the shooting.
