maiavaHONOLULU — Oakland Raiders linebacker Kaluka Maiava and his brother are charged with assaulting two men at a Maui bar.

Maui Prosecuting Attorney John Kim says Maiava and 30-year-old brother Ilima Maiava are charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal property damage, a petty misdemeanor.

They allegedly caused bodily harm during a brawl at Life’s a Beach in Kihei on March 17. That would be four days after the Raiders signed the 27-year-old from Wailuku to a three-year, $6 million contract. He played four seasons with the Cleveland Browns after being a fourth-round pick out of Southern California.

Maiava’s agent couldn’t immediately be reached for comment Wednesday.

The brothers were served with summonses on July 2 when prosecutors learned they would be on the island.

Arraignment is scheduled for July 25.
