Alex RodriguezIf Alex Rodriguez hopes to avoid a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball, he’ll need to broker a plea deal.

That’s exactly what the Yankee’s lawyers are internally discussing, according to the New York Daily News. Rodriguez met with MLB officials on Friday about his connection to the Biogenesis anti-aging clinic in Miami. Rodriguez’s best-case scenario may be to get his suspension down to 150 games, according to a New York Daily News source, which would effectively end the third baseman’s career, anyway.

Major League Baseball is said to have extensive evidence that Rodriguez acquired performance-enhancing drugs from Anthony Bosch, Biogenesis’ founder. New York Daily News also reports that MLB brought up the idea of a settlement with Ryan Braun, who is also facing a suspension due to his connection to Biogenesis.
