Brad StevensIn the days since he was formally introduced as coach of the Celtics, Brad Stevens has met with Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger and Courtney Lee, to name just a few of his new players. One player he had not met with — and who showed little interest in going out of his way to meet him — was point guard Rajon Rondo.

Fear not, Celtics fans, because that highly anticipated meeting reportedly has occurred. Stevens traveled to Rondo’s hometown of Louisville during an off day for the Celtics’ summer league team on Thursday to speak at Rondo’s basketball camp and, presumably, meet with the All-Star point guard.

The Boston Globe reported the trip took place, but did not offer details. We can only hope Rondo didn’t mistake Stevens for a referee and throw a basketball at him.
